Scraped.Crusaders’ B34TER Pt.2

The B34TER, this is the aim.  I wouldn’t want to butcher a clean chassis like this.  Thus I don’t feel bad at all ricing the E34 I bought.  Usually, those in the scene like to keep the final looks under wraps when creating a build thread, to deter others from copying.  Sometimes it makes sense, like the lead up to H20i or another big show. But since this is a winter/spring slow “build”, we’ll be showing you guys everything.  Also this way, it motivates me to actually build this….or get hassled by my friends for flopping.

Edited with the permission of photographer: Kevin Trower.

The car is a 1995 540i.  It came sans rear bumper and a good chunk of the front bumper missing. But mechanically she felt tight and motor is really quiet.  Worst case, you’ll see an E34 part out ad in the spring.  The sport leather seats, leather/wood grain interior and OEM Shadowline trim should more than bring back the purchase price.  Also most importantly….it has a GSM Phone.  A set of 17×8 Throwing Star reps and AC Scnitzer side skirts and rear wing were included.  The skirts and wheels I should be selling to fund the bumpers front splitter and rear gurney flap.

Since I’ll still be spending time trying to find a cleaner chassis, I’m keeping this car as budget minded as possible. It won’t be sprayed, the ding in the door won’t be fixed.  I do hope the ding in the quarter can be popped out though.  And this way I won’t get caught up trying to find Smileys, Euro tails or other Euro accoutrements.  It will also allow me to go for a motorsports theme. I do not think I would feel comfortable going this route with a clean E34.

Recipe for level 5 heat score:
– BC Racing coilovers (shortened and custom rates)
– 17×10/11 Relipped BBS RSs (OEM silver)
– Nardi wheel with NRG quick release
– front splitter with black supports
– AC Schnitzer wing with big DTM style gurney flap and supports
– hood louvres (functional, well it’ll clear air, doubt its effectiveness lol)
– any black side skirts
– canards
– speedholes in the front and rear bumpers
– DTM/BTCC inspired decals
– rice
– brown skin

And if budget allows 3-4 inch straight pipe
