Euronited 2014

Tucked away at the Bradley Museum in Mississauga, Euronited put on a pretty good show this past Sunday. Luckily I had enough time to grab pics, grab lunch and get back in time for the World Cup.

Oskar’s S4.  Bagged on CCWs with a full interior done by InsideJob Upholstery.  I’m on the fence about the heckbelende though, I haven’t decided if I like it or not.

Now on to the important stuff.  The 4 (not including mine) E34′s that showed up.  First is this Japanese Import Aplina B10 3.5.  The owner, seen above, bought the car from BC with a little over 86K in 2010 and drove it back through the US.  He’s swiftly put on 26K in the time since.

Few cars look good in retro graphics.  All of the Alpina stuff is timeless.  The same goes for their wheels.

How does a 25 year old cloth interior look so good?  Cloth Alpina Recaros are the unicorm E34 seats,  god damn, they’re gorgeous.

The full AC Schnitzer kit is actually nice when all the parts are fitted and not broken.  I wish I had this entire bumper rather than just the top half of it.  Even the retro side panelling is nice.  So, period correct.

This early M5 was fresh off a track day.  The front track tires were completely worn and the rear 888s weren’t any better.  The owner also indicated some boost might be in the near future.

Lastly, this E34 touring.  I had no idea it was even there.  I was just able to snap a few shots as he left.

I LOVE Yas Marina Blue.  And I love the M4s more, knowing they’re underating the horsepower.   The 425HP F82 actually makes 460hp at the crank.

 

Boonies Bash 2014

With the festivities of Eurokracy taking over the entire Canada Day weekend, we were unfortunately unable to make it to Boonies Bash 2014 at Shonnonville. Luckily our friend Lucas from FTN Auto was able to capture the sights and sounds.  We’re posting pics of 3 of our good friends.  Steve Van Sluewen’s E30, Mike Catell’s FC and Kristoff Hemet’s E36.

Eurokracy 2014 via Gill and Preet

This is Canada’s Premier car show.  Let alone European car show.  We’ve been attending Eurokracy since it’s inception and have been shown open arms by the organizers Rick, Sergio and Jesse.   We definitely feel part of the Eurokracy family.  So much so, they allowed us to present our award for our favourite ride on stage.  While my time with the mic was botched by stage fright, perhaps I should have prepared some words before hand.  We ended up awarding this 1.8T swapped MK1 below.  It was super clean with an amazing swap.  It just felt right picking a Mk1 too.  The severe heat limited the number of photos we have.  The shade of our tent was very very compelling.

When BagRiders bring up their own E92, you know you’re in for a great show.  You hear about the LibertyWalk Auto kit as now bring played out.   When is the last time you’ve seen one in person?  They are an impressive piece of kit.  Just because you see them online does not mean the work going into one should be downplayed.

Bronson’s 540i ripping up the track.  Definitely one of the better sounding cars of the day. The best time I believe was a 15.4, not bad for a 3800~ lbs luxary yacht with an open diff and blown suspension.

TOPP DriftRound 3: Shannonville

Moving west of the city has its benefits and drawbacks.  The major drawback being the driving distance to Mosport and Shannonville.  Using a 4.0 V8 to get there doesn’t help.  I’m just unable to attend all of the events.  Luckily I can just post Devo’s videos.

2014 24 Hours of Le Mans

The World Endurance Championship, might be the new king.  Formula 1 will forever keep my interest.  It has its ups and downs and the allure of the best drivers and teams is too hard to ignore.  However, the WEC is starting to steer my interests elsewhere.  A few things are needed for series to enter into legendary status.  Ala, Group C, Group B, super tourers, or the first Turbo f1 era.  Great drivers, great teams, great cars and great racing.  The new WEC generation arguably rivals those great racing eras.  It will be the stuff of legends, decade into the future.  Heading into Le Mans, no one can accurately predict the winner of the race. Audi, Porsche and Toyota all have a legitimate chance to win.  With Nissan joining the fold for 2015 and Ferrari (program is rumoured to be unveiled this Saturday) in 2016, the WEC will be impossible to ignore. AWD, RWD, V4, V6, V8, V10, gas, diesel, electric, hybrids, turbos, KERS, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Toyota, Chevrolet, BMW, Nissan, Rebellion, Morgan, ORECA, Ligier, Aston Martin.  This is variety that you will not see on the F1 circuit.  Below are the spotter guides for all 55 entries.  All eyes will be glued to the 7 front runners though.  My bold prediction ahead of the race has the No.7 Toyota car on top of the podium at the end.
