H2Oi 2014 – BMW Meet

h235

After last years pretty successful E30/early BMW meet, we decided to replicate the meet but on a smaller scale.  It was now 5 series oriented, since Bron and I both drive one.  We had only planned on having 10-15 cars as we were both just looking to meet other e34 owners.  But it quickly grew on Instagram and we knew we were getting a bigger meet then initially planned. The plan was to hold the meet at the lot behind BJ’s restaurant.  However the owners were none too please.  So Rose’s seemed like the best alternative.  Predicably we were swiftly kicked out of there too. :(

When I made it back to 75th after Rose’s our street was pretty packed with BMW.  I was told by Mauncho this was on the light side.  A few minutes earlier he was hard at work rerouting cars to Rose’s while dealing with the owner’s of BJs.  All in all, in was poorly planned on our part.

@willem’s bagged M5 trailering an e30.

Unfortunately, the meet was not how we had hoped.  We should have chosen a much bigger lot.  We also should have made a proper back up plan (other than Rose’s).  Let’s hope next year goe better.

My Week in OCMD.

oc1

This year we decided to stay an entire week at Ocean City.  It was well worth it.  The extra days were awesome as H20i actually felt like a vacation for once.  The house we stayed at sucked though.  I swear my stuffed nose was from mold.  No big deal, most of the time was spent mobbin up and down the strip, even before the crowds showed up on Thursday.  I went through AT LEAST a full tank while on the strip.  500-600kms+ up and down coastal.  Got damn.

By the time the weekend rolled around I had managed to pick up a nail on my front left tire.  It wasn’t leaking air, so I thought its better if I just leave it alone.  Pulling up to the Outkasts meet, it proved otherwise.  The nail popped out.  Quick call to Dan and he was there with a jack.  We did need some spare wood to get the car up though.  With the flat tire in hand we went to a local shop to get it patched. These two beauts were outside.

The Wagon GTG was hands down the most subdued meet of the week.  It was also made up of about 90% wagons which is nice.  Ussually a meet means, 10-15 apt cars then 50 random cars.

oc20 oc21

Taphouse was bangin all week.  Didn’t matter the time or weather.  It was packed.  Im not even sure whats meets were there.  We just showed up.

Governors Club meet.  It was held on the morning of the actual show.  Tbh, I didn’t even know it was going down, we just stopped at the convention centre because there was a pretty big crowd.

Left overs.  Randoms snaps from the week.

Golden Showers.

IMG_4026 We were able to set up a few shoot with Matt over the week.  This was our first one.  Think it’s safe to say we started with the best. Us – “You sure you want to do this?” Anthony – “Ya” Us – “You should probably put your windows up” Anthony – “they don’t go up” Not verbatim, but that’s pretty much how we prepared for the fountain shots.  Sometimes you just do what you have to, to get that shot.  Glad Matt was there, as I forgot to take photos of this.

It’s a rarity for myself to be this attracted to old VAG content at H20i.  It’s dat character.  We’re glad to have met you Anthony, see you next year.   IMG_3962IMG_3960

I don’t always like VWs but when I do, they’re 2 instagram queens.  @farklefitment’s green hatch and @corrrrrrigan’s red one.

@ladeedubxo’s bagged City Golf.  Followed by the rest of my limited VW content.

Sean Murphy’s Mk3.  The Stay Strong booth, helped raise funds for Sean who’s rehabilitating from a spinal cord injury.  More info.

Fairly certain these are my old beebs.   Patented chipping paintjob and all.  Almost wish I kept them.

Now on to the cool cars ;).  My favourite car was this M3.  No crazy ruined fender fitment, just a nice low stance.  Perfect.

Inaugural Scraped.Crusaders. X Eurokracy Kruise

Our Kruise to Eurokracy had a few hiccups, but overall it was a success.  And will definitely be on the cards again next year.  As per usual, I forgot to make the most of it and did not take as many photos as I would have liked.

From the Trenton ONRoute.  We filled up the ONRoute RV parking area by accident.

Scott (bagged e46) and his bagged buddies (R32 and FR-S, above)

Dave, the man behind Stanceiseverything.com brought his Mazda3 and Blaire Taylor and the Taylor’d Customs A4.

Jay’s car is dumb.  I’ve never driven a car that scrapes more subframe than this thing.  How his car wasn’t one of our vehicles to break down is beyond me (more on this later).  Dumber still, was our decision to pack 6 people in this car and have me drive to dinner.  4 drunk chicks in the back of a car seems like a fun time……no.   WORST BACK SEAT DRIVERS EVER.

kr7

Jay, just get bags.

kr11
kr4

Scott made it out to the Kruise all the way from London.  Man, I barely made it from Scarborough.

kr3

My Subie wasn’t entirely out of place on our kruise.

Mostly due to rain, I failed to provide further pics.  I do have this Instagram image from Tyler.  His Corrado hit a bridge connector with some consequences.  …..yes, it’s bagged. lol.  A quick CAA pitstop and he was back at Eurokracy for the event the next day.

And our lineup at the hotel.  After a small detour thanks to Apple maps.  Fuck that app.  Avalon, Rob and Mauncho, Gill +1, Brian and Adrian, Talukah and Bronson, Matt+1, Jay+1, Matt, Geoff+1.  Later on joined by Dave+1, Steve, Mauricio, Dan+1 and Danny and Kristoff.  .  14 cars, 24 people strong for Eurokracy 2013.

New Year, New Gig

Matt Berenz AKA Deathlens is now working at Pfaff Tuning as their web promotor.  These are some of the pics he’s taken in his first couple days.  Lucky duck. The Facebook pages he manages are Pfaff Tuning and McLaren Toronto.
