Busy Weekend

we3

I had a few things on my plate this past Weekend. The Subaru Spring Fling,  errands at a buddies house in the boonies North of Pickering, Steve’s shop to mount some wheels/tires, the Eurotouch Tuning BBQ and the Krispy Kreme meet.  Unforturnatly I haven’t been able to find my camera charger and the low battery indicator meant I had to ration all of my photos.  Like a dummy, I have 5 photos of my shitbox and zero photos of actual Subarus from the Spring Fling event.  I did however grab pics of this sweet EVO 5.  It’s the first one I’ve seen locally.

we4

After hastily leaving  SpringFling, I made my way to Steve’s shop.   And caught up with him about the E46 build for FormulaD Canada.  The build is once again gathering steam, as it was in a bit of a lull since he was on the lookout for a motor.  The decisions to go with and M52 was a made just recently. The acquisition of a Garrett GT35r has accelerated Steve’s drive to get the ride completed.  So much so, he’s decided to unveil it at Fitted on May 23rd.  I also caught up with Danny, and his Fitted prep.  Parts of the car are getting a new white coat.  And he’s working on acquiring a few more parts.  He put a lot of work into tidying up engine bay.  You guys will be able to have a good look at that at Fitted as well.

The plan was to have a set of O.Z. F-1 plus wheels on this weekend but I decided that I liked the Throwing Star reps more for now.  The look just didn’t gel with me.  But I look at this in a good way.  It’s finally motivated me enough to clean up the car a bit and to put my RSs together.  They’ll be on for Eurokacy at the latest.  I did like the whole black on black look though.

Sunday was the BBQ at EuroTouch Tuning.  I met up with Dan and Manolo for some cars and hot dogs.  I was only able to grab a few shots before the camera died for good.

we18

This B6 was tucked away in the back, but it caught my eye with the pretty sweet colour combo.

we13

Manolo’s Benz doesn’t really go anywhere without being seen.

we15

Even though this Civic was parked on the street, Dan and I wanted to take a closer look.  Before getting back into a MK3 Jetta, Dan was in the process of modifying an EJ/M coupe.  So he knew this front bumper is actually JDM.  I just thought it looked cool on Works.   Show season is starting to get some steam.  See you at the next local event.

H2Oi 2014 – Arrival

The drive down was more eventful than I had hoped for.  2 hours in, Dan and I collectively obliterated a deer carcass.  It was at that exact second I realized raising your car for the drive down is a damn good decision. I took the brunt of the deer as my bumper trim and oil level sensor can attest too. Luckily a quick pit stop had it back in place.  The rest of the trip went uneventful and we arrived in OCMD on Monday evening.

They may not have the best fitment, but these two were two of the loudest cars all weekend. Apologies to the poor guy I woke up who was trying to sleep in his buddies car.

h26 h25

Arrive, lower it, wash it, polish it, drive it.  Though later on it became waddle in traffic, instead of actual driving.

After getting our cars in check, we thought some sunset pics were in order.

Adrian was doing this more than we would have liked.  Thankfully with some JB Weld, he was able to make it back home with no problems. Happy Adrian is good Adrian.

h210

Before those sunset pics we figured hitting up Taphouse wouldn’t hurt.  For a Monday evening, it was waaay busier than we have every seen it.  It foreshadows the rest of the week unfortunately.  This MK4 checked all the right boxes for me.  Love the racekor look.

Euronited 2014

Tucked away at the Bradley Museum in Mississauga, Euronited put on a pretty good show this past Sunday. Luckily I had enough time to grab pics, grab lunch and get back in time for the World Cup.

Oskar’s S4.  Bagged on CCWs with a full interior done by InsideJob Upholstery.  I’m on the fence about the heckbelende though, I haven’t decided if I like it or not.

en9 en19

Erik’s awesome SAAB 9-3. A damn shame, Saab, isn’t around anymore.

en8 en21

Not often do we post MK3s, but I think for this one, we can make an exception.

en4

I assure you, there is a MK4 in this image.

en23

Now on to the important stuff.  The 4 (not including mine) E34’s that showed up.  First is this Japanese Import Aplina B10 3.5.  The owner, seen above, bought the car from BC with a little over 86K in 2010 and drove it back through the US.  He’s swiftly put on 26K in the time since.

en26

Few cars look good in retro graphics.  All of the Alpina stuff is timeless.  The same goes for their wheels.

en1 en14

How does a 25 year old cloth interior look so good?  Cloth Alpina Recaros are the unicorm E34 seats,  god damn, they’re gorgeous.

en6

The full AC Schnitzer kit is actually nice when all the parts are fitted and not broken.  I wish I had this entire bumper rather than just the top half of it.  Even the retro side panelling is nice.  So, period correct.

en22en2

This early M5 was fresh off a track day.  The front track tires were completely worn and the rear 888s weren’t any better.  The owner also indicated some boost might be in the near future.

en13

Lastly, this E34 touring.  I had no idea it was even there.  I was just able to snap a few shots as he left.

en25

I LOVE Yas Marina Blue.  And I love the M4s more, knowing they’re underating the horsepower.   The 425HP F82 actually makes 460hp at the crank.

June Jitter Bug via. Tylyr Lenc

This was my first time attending June Jitterbug but I can tell you this definitely will not be my last. The warm sunny weather, The drive up on the highway littered with slammed dubs and even parking in Firemens park. Everything was perfect. There were a lot of quality cars there that caught my attention. Between being distracted by staring at cars, talking to the owners and walking around with friends I managed to take some photos every now and then. After all, there is nothing better than everyone getting together enjoying what we all enjoy most.

Scraped.Crusaders. X Eurokracy Kruise 2014 via Preet.

The Kruise was much less hands on this year.  Last year we tried to handle it with an iron clad schedule and wound up taking a detour anyways.  This year was much more relaxed.  The Kruise was more enjoyable.  The gorgeous weather contributed greatly.   While I was able to borrow Sam’s MK5 I quickly realized, I missed my Subaru or at least having my own car.  The trip took around 5 hours with only one hiccup (below).

eu15

Mauricio’s top 100 show and shine entrant MK2.

eu17

Hiccup:  @thatbaggedtdi ran into a slight rear tire wear issue.  Crazy camber and toe will do that to you.  Luckily we all made it to Montreal with no blowouts.

eu19

Jay’s 2.7TT swapped B6 A4.  Sounded exactly like a low flying plane.  Which is to say annoying as hell when you’re driving beside it.

eu24

While we had great fun on the Kruise, the photos didn’t turn out as well as I had liked.  The few shots I DID take ended up blurry. Luckily Preet was there to tighten the slack.

Eurokracy 2014 via Gill and Preet

eu22

This is Canada’s Premier car show.  Let alone European car show.  We’ve been attending Eurokracy since it’s inception and have been shown open arms by the organizers Rick, Sergio and Jesse.   We definitely feel part of the Eurokracy family.  So much so, they allowed us to present our award for our favourite ride on stage.  While my time with the mic was botched by stage fright, perhaps I should have prepared some words before hand.  We ended up awarding this 1.8T swapped MK1 below.  It was super clean with an amazing swap.  It just felt right picking a Mk1 too.  The severe heat limited the number of photos we have.  The shade of our tent was very very compelling.

eu5 eu12

Sharing the stage with Sam Dobbins and his epic food saver.

eu4

993, with  Ruf front and rear bumpers.  The Porsche fanboy within tells me this was the coolest car at the show.

eu1

When BagRiders bring up their own E92, you know you’re in for a great show.  You hear about the LibertyWalk Auto kit as now bring played out.   When is the last time you’ve seen one in person?  They are an impressive piece of kit.  Just because you see them online does not mean the work going into one should be downplayed.

eu2

Bronson’s 540i ripping up the track.  Definitely one of the better sounding cars of the day. The best time I believe was a 15.4, not bad for a 3800~ lbs luxary yacht with an open diff and blown suspension.

eu8

Chris’ Mk5, newly christened with OZ Futuras.

Redbull gives you wings.  Seems like a little too much though.  #redbullhigh

Brand new bag…

…well, wheels.

I have owned 13 sets of BBS, 4 sets of Rikens, 2 sets of Works, a single set of CCWs, countless OEM sets; and now, my dream set of OZs. Few wheels look as good as the Futuras; in my opinion of course. They need some work, not a lot. So they will be a side project while the LMs (which are currently being re-finished) are in use on the A4.

VAG EVENT 2013

Winter needs to end asap.  This video of VAG Event 2013 brings us back to the middle of show season.  This is one of the best videos I’ve seen that captures the ambiance and atmosphere of a car show.
